Why I’m Against Gender Neutral Nurseries

Post by on February 17, 2017

I’ve always been one who likes to decorate a nursery gender specific, but it wasn’t until I actively researched gender-neutral nursery designs that I realized why.

First a little backstory — Our new little babe wouldn’t cooperate and let us see if it was a boy or girl until I was 24 weeks! I started browsing online to find inspiration for gender neutral nurseries.

A Rock & Rollick Momma Featured on Project Nursery!

Post by on February 11, 2017

One of my very favorite things about running Rock & Rollick is when I get to see my customers finished nurseries. I love seeing how they used our designs in the space, but also it’s such a fulfilling moment for me because I know that’s where they’re raising their child. A child who will one day make their own mark on the world.

How My Own Pregnancy Clarified The Mission Behind Rock & Rollick

Post by on January 22, 2017

Around Christmas I made an announcement that we’re expecting baby #2, but other than that I haven’t talked much about it. Now, I’m pretty sure we’ve all heard the phrase, “you’re just decorating the nursery for yourself – your baby doesn’t care what it looks like”, but I don’t fully agree with this statement.

Nursery Wallpaper Roundup – For Baby Girl

Post by on October 19, 2016

Wallpaper has made a HUGE come back and I have to admit that I was surprised by how excited I got by this! I’ve been kind of obsessed lately and think it would be wonderful to decorate a nursery with wallpaper! I remember scraping wallpaper off the walls of a home my parents bought 10 years ago and I had thought, “why would anyone ever use wallpaper?!” – Oh how 10 years can change your perspective, and maybe the knowledge that wallpaper is supposed to be easy to remove now.  Continue Reading

Folks that Rock! – Finkelstein’s Center

Post by on August 18, 2016

I came across this adorable shop as a fellow BabyList Shop Small Pick for 2016. I absolutely LOVE how cute and quirky these little animals are and I just knew I wanted to feature them! These one-of-a-kind handmade soft toys are so fun and would make a super cute, unique baby decor addition to any baby room. In 2010, Michelle Jewell founded Finkelsteins, a toy company based in Charleston, SC. Combining her love of illustration and sewing, a line of quirky creatures formed. The collection includes animals from nonchalant sloths to introverted lambs.
