It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn, it’s a new life for me
….and I’m feeling good!
This change has been coming for months now, and there is a part of me that is sad to let Rock & Rollick go. Letting go of it in the form of selling handmade baby bedding & decor that is.
I struggled with this decision because I was seeing success and my designs truly resonated with new moms, getting them excited to decorate the nursery for their new lil babes. I felt like I was letting my customers down by deciding not to sell finished products anymore.
The truth is though, I was letting my kids down by continuing to produce finished products. A major part of my goal in starting this business was to have flexible hours and to be there for my family. With success and orders pouring in though, I quickly became strapped to my business with not much time for anything else in my life. Something had to give.
After some major soul searching and brainstorming I realized that to live the lifestyle I want, I needed to stop making things. I thought of hiring out, but in the end I decided I want to focus on the art, my family, my friends, and taking better care of my own health.
That means this year I’ll be transitioning to selling my art on fabric through Spoonflower for DIY projects, or for other small businesses to use! If you’re a small business and interested please send me an email and let’s chat! (email@example.com) My art will also be available on ready made items on Society6.
Behind the scenes I’ll be building my portfolio, and finding an art agent to help me begin art licensing again. I dream of having Rock & Rollick designs sold at Anthropologie, The Land of Nod, Target, The Baby Bedding Company and who knows, maybe even Babies ‘R Us!
I hope you have had an amazing 2017 and that 2018 will be even better! I know I’m looking forward to some artistic living – which to me means living with more freedom to be immersed in my art, days filled with adventures with my family, and to enjoy the beauty in everyday moments.
